Museo di arte e giacimenti minerari “Maurizio Violo”, Latina

Currently, the museum houses about 150 slabs of ornamental rocks from various regions of Italy; this is complemented by photographic, cartographic, and illustrative material on cultivation techniques, quarries, stratigraphic series, and more. The goal of the Museum is to offer as complete a panorama as possible of the main commercial varieties of Italian ornamental rocks.

Regarding their nomenclature, it was deemed appropriate to maintain the commercial designation which, although not free from ambiguities, is the most well known. The Museum aims to support teaching for students of the Degree Courses in Environmental and Territorial Engineering, Geology, and Architecture.
