The Museum of Agriculture of Piedmont, thanks to the active commitment of the homonymous association, founded in 1977 by a group of professors from the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Turin and in collaboration with colleagues from the Faculty of Letters, the order of Doctors in agricultural sciences, the provincial Colleges of surveyors and representatives of the professional category organizations of farmers, has as its main objective to preserve the cultural heritage of the agricultural world. The museum houses about 1600 pieces: tools, agricultural machines of historical interest.
The Museum’s collections total over 1600 objects (from simple tools to agricultural machines of historical interest) inventoried, recorded, and cataloged; the first 600 are documented in the first volume of the Catalog, published in 1986. Alongside the collection, recording, and preservation of museum material, the Museum of Agriculture of Piedmont Association has promoted lively study and research activities.
