Durban is a particularly active and thriving city industrially and commercially, the most important center of the KwaZulu-Natal province and, according to sector studies, one of the fastest-growing cities in the world.

Durban, historic center

Durban culture

But in Durban, there are many spaces dedicated to art and culture, such as the African Art Centre, housed in the former post office building, which functions both as an art gallery and a workshop for experimenting with different forms of modern creativity. Nearby, there is the Workshop Mall, a large shopping center overlooking the very green Central Park.

Durban, Indian quarter

Those who love exotic and oriental atmospheres should not miss a visit to Grey Street, the Indian quarter, in the station area, where the Juma Musijd mosque dominates, with a huge dome and golden minarets: it is the largest in the entire southern hemisphere, and to visit it you must be properly dressed and remove your shoes.
