La Germania es un país rico en tradiciones navideñas dignas de destacar y, por lo tanto, no debe sorprender que cada año miles de personas visiten las ciudades alemanas cerca de las festividades.
Hannover Christmas Markets
Also the Hannover Christmas markets – open from November 23 to December 22 – deserve a visit, especially since they are real Christmas villages with some specific peculiarities.
The first Hannover Christmas market, the main one, is located in the city center and, from street to street, it “gathers” all around the Marktkirche church. In total, it consists of more than 170 wooden huts inside which you can find dolls, decorations, Christmas-themed items, local crafts, sweets, and typical food and wine products.
On the other hand, the second Hannover market is quite different: it is called “The Historical Christmas Village” and transports visitors to an atmosphere of bygone times, as it is characterized by recreating places and stories belonging to the Middle Ages. It will therefore be like finding yourself in Lower Saxony centuries ago: a unique experience, always themed around Advent and the festivities.
Finally, the third Hannover Christmas Market is located in Ballhofplatz and is inspired by what could be a Finnish Christmas Village, with stalls offering roasted fish (Flammlach) and mulled wine (Glögi). Given the chance to enjoy these typical products, a good idea might be to leave this market for last, in order to end the day here, dining on traditional dishes.

The varied program of events planned on the stage will delight the eyes and ears of visitors. Children will be enchanted by puppets, painters who paint on glass, storytellers, and rides, and they can transform into little cooks in the Christmas bakery.
Hannover awaits you with all its splendor: let yourself be carried away by this Christmas atmosphere in the company of the city guides.
