Of ancient foundation, the church with the annexed Franciscan convent no longer existing, was rebuilt in 1293, then again after the Turkish invasion in 1566, and again in 1890. The facade still preserves its 13th-century appearance in white stone with the beautiful slightly ogival portal framed. The rose window is original in the frame, while the rays are reconstructed. The last intervention made the interior, with a single nave and Latin cross, in style and pointed arches. It houses inside the beautiful triptych with the Madonna and Child in majesty and saints, an early 16th-century work by Michele Greco da Valona, which testifies to the flourishing cultural as well as commercial exchange between the two shores of the Adriatic.
