La birthplace of Giovanni Pascoli has been a national monument since 1924. Numerous rooms preserve the furniture existing at the poet’s time. The house-museum preserves various Pascoli memorabilia and historical evidence such as: autograph letters, family photographs, and autographs of illustrious visitors. The memory of the serene period spent in San Mauro by Pascoli is recalled in many poems with great nostalgia and affection, especially for the very strong bond with the family and attachment to his native land.
