La birthplace of Giovanni Pascoli has been a national monument since 1924. Numerous rooms preserve the furniture existing at the time of the poet. The house-museum retains various Pascoli memorabilia and historical testimonies such as: autographed letters, family photographs, and autographs of illustrious visitors. The memory of the serene period spent in San Mauro by Pascoli is recalled in many poems with great nostalgia and affection, especially for the strong bond with the family and attachment to his native land.
