The Path of Saint Benedict is a route to be done on foot or by bike, stretching 310 kilometers, from Norcia to Subiaco, divided between the Umbria region (only a small initial part) and Lazio, nearly reaching the border with Campania.
A naturalistic and spiritual journey, divided into 16 daily stages, crossing the most significant places of the life of Saint Benedict of Norcia.
The route extends from the foothills of the Monti Sibillini to the Upper Aniene Valley, up to the Liri valley. Norcia, Subiaco, and Montecassino are the main stages that tell the story of Saint Benedict: Norcia, his birthplace, Subiaco, where he lived for more than thirty years, and finally Montecassino, the place of his last years.

Moreover, the pilgrimage also includes sites of saints such as Rita of Cascia, Francis of Assisi, and Thomas Aquinas. In Poggio Bustone, it is possible to embark on the path “With Wings on Your Feet,” in Rieti the other spiritual route “Francis Passed This Way,” and finally, in Montecassino, you can join the Southern Via Francigena.
