The museum was opened with the aim of providing Scandicci with a public park capable of enhancing the hilly environment through its unique features and the arts. The goal is to experiment with solutions in art and landscape architecture to enhance this heritage, giving it a contemporary cultural dimension. With the creation of the open-air museum, the park’s audience was broadened, allowing for cultural development. The park-museum is part of a network for exchanging experiences and knowledge in the field of environmental art, with partners including the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in Wakefield, the Skulpturlandskap in Bode, and the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo.
