The museum was born from the idea of the geographer Fernanda Gregoli who, in 1994, on the occasion of the presentation of the thesis of the student Giovanni Biglione about the Maira Valley, which included a chapter about the school, proposed to establish a permanent exhibition dedicated to it. Following a long process of researching materials, cataloging, and examining school documents carried out by a group of teachers from the Valley, the Municipal Administration provided the premises and funded the initiative. Inaugurated in 1999, it reconstructs a classroom with materials dating back to the early 1900s and a library that collects books from the late 19th century up to the 1970s. Report cards, teacher registers, and photographs testify to and tell the story of the school of the past.
