The government of Mauritius has announced updated regulations for those planning a trip or holiday to Mauritius.
Some entry conditions for Mauritius have changed, so travelers should be aware of the new rules before planning their visit.
The new measures are actually more convenient for tourists: anyone wishing to travel to Mauritius now needs only a valid passport with an expiration date at least matching the day of departure from Mauritius.
Previously, entry was allowed only if your passport was valid for at least six months after your return date.
This simplification is a clear benefit, reducing unnecessary administrative hassles over passport expiry.
The documents required to enter Mauritius at this time are:
- a valid passport, expiring no earlier than your return date;
- a return flight ticket;
- proof of accommodation on the island, such as a booking confirmation.
