Africa represents, in the common imagination, an exotic destination. However, it is well connected by air with the major cities of the world, so it is not at all complicated to arrange a stay in these parts. Madagascar is a reference point for ecotourism, a conscious choice for those who love to get to know a country and a people very different from their own, spending a holiday of relaxation and at the same time rich in adventures.
To visit the fourth largest island in the world, we chose Nosy Be, an island that offers numerous attractions and has an airport with direct flights from Paris and Milan, making it very convenient to have more time available on vacation.
When to Visit Madagascar
The suggested period to travel is from April to October, corresponding to the winter in the southern hemisphere, which here means mild temperatures, plenty of sun, and better opportunities for excursions. Nosy Be Island, in particular, has a climate characterized by low humidity, in fact I never suffered from the heat during my stay. Forget the sultriness of big cities, here you breathe in the full essence of nature, enchanting and wild at the same time.
Precisely because of its history and the biodiversity that characterizes Madagascar, we like to think that this land is an indecipherable enigma, and for this reason, irresistible.
Exploring the Eighth Continent
Madagascar was formerly part of the supercontinent Gondwana, from which it separated 140 million years ago. This caused isolation from the development of the rest of Africa, and it is precisely this richness that today invites travelers to explore it. The numerous ethnic groups that have created a unique cultural and linguistic blend and the presence of extremely rare animal and plant species are the reasons why Madagascar is also called the Eighth Continent, a place unknown for centuries and told as if it were a fairy tale.
The Great Island of Hospitality
The meaning of the name Nosy Be is Great Island. No image can convey the idea of the explosion of colors, the clarity of the ocean, and the luxuriance of the natural areas of this island. Here one feels like living for a few days in a world far from everything without any nostalgia, a typical relaxing holiday.
The Andilana Beach Resort is ideal for the stay: Awarded as Best Resort in Africa by Tripadvisor in 2013, it has received other recognitions such as the World Travel Awards, thanks to the great attention to guests and respect for what nature has given us, that is, a paradise without equal.
Visiting the Tropical Park that embraces the entire structure you understand why Nosy Be is called the island of perfumes: bougainvillea, hibiscus, vanilla plants, and ylang-ylang, used precisely for the most precious fragrances, in other words every moment of the day has its aroma, an unforgettable memory.
The beach is the main attraction of the area, the sand is white and very fine. The Indian Ocean (which is always very warm) encourages long swims while you can dive from the rocks that emerge here and there (Nosy Be, in fact, is of volcanic origin).
