This is an event that successfully combines contemporary art with the urban landscape. The works are signed by internationally renowned artists: Airò, Buren, Pistoletto, Merz, Casorati, Kosuth, Gastini, Quingyun Ma, Rebecca Horn, and rotate, year after year, in different points of the city, creating magic, like carpets of tiny lights suspended in the night; arabesques that cast a soft glow over squares, fountains, and baroque buildings.

Luminous frames that light up passages and galleries. Tangled phosphorescent LEDs that wrap around domes and lampposts. Games of planets, mosaics, words, and human silhouettes that flood the shopping streets with vibrant colors. Beyond the genius of the authors and the originality of the subjects and forms, the people of Turin also appreciate the fact that many of these works are made from simple, often recycled materials. For example, the phantasmagorical Mosaic by Marcella Borghi, installed on via Lagrange during the 2009 edition, made with bottle bottoms, aluminum, colored LEDs, and inspired by the mosaics of the Salerno Cathedral, the dazzling Mediterranean light, the chromatic plays of oriental carpets, and the pointillist signs of the 1960s.

For some time now, Salerno has had Luci d’Artista as well, having undertaken this initiative in partnership with the city of Turin.
