In the heart of Basilicata there is a forest that spans twelve hectares and, every summer, fills with suggestions and ancient history.
It is the Parco della Grancia, commonly also called Brigands’ Park because, inside a natural amphitheater, every summer weekend the deeds of the Lucanian people at the time of Italian unification come to life, in a show now famous throughout the South and much of the Peninsula.
“The Outlawed History”, the title of the event involving over 400 volunteer actors, tells the vicissitudes, the insurrections, the thirst for redemption of a mistreated, oppressed people, deceived and disappointed by those who, during the Risorgimento period, divided territories, powers, and possessions without any regard for the population, already very poor.

The charismatic spokesperson, brave and historically controversial, of this Lucanian movement of revenge is Carmine Crocco, who went down in history as the Brigands’ General.
Thus, the film-show represents the human, family, and social story of the brigands, to show from a different perspective what history has called a criminal phenomenon.

With the narrating voices of Michele Placido, Lina Sastri, Paolo Ferrari and Orso Maria Guerrini; the soundtrack expertly curated and presented by Antonello Venditti, Lucio Dalla, Luciano Di Giandomenico, Eddy Napoli, Eldo Papiri, Davide Petrosino, Joel Fajermann and other young artists; the technical and artistic direction by Jean-François Touillaud and the directing by Victor Rambaldi, the Outlawed History awaits visitors who, in a charming green setting suitably equipped, will be welcomed by soldiers and brigands.

Meetings, then, every Saturday and Sunday, from August to September.
