Day 1: Tbilisi – Where Asia Meets Europe, Past Meets Future
On arrival at Tbilisi Airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day unwinding after your journey, and if time allows, treat yourself to an evening stroll in the upper part of the Old Town to take in Tbilisi’s night views.
Day 2: Old Tbilisi, a Walk Through Time
Your morning is devoted to discovering Tbilisi, accompanied by a guide. The main highlights are concentrated in the Old Town. Start at the Narikala Fortress, a 4th-century Persian citadel with imposing Arabic walls—its lookout offers an unforgettable panorama over the city. Continue to the ancient Sulphur Baths and then to Sioni Cathedral, one of Georgia’s most important Orthodox churches, a classic example of medieval Georgian architecture.
Day 3: Mtskheta, Gori, Uplistsikhe – The Roots of Georgia
Today you’ll venture inland, with your first stop at Mtskheta, the former capital of the Kingdom of Iberia, showcasing monuments such as Jvari Church and remnants of a 6th-century monastery, along with the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, spiritual center of the Georgian Orthodox Church. Journey on to Uplistsikhe, an ancient city carved into the rock, inhabited from prehistory through the Middle Ages and dotted with pagan and Christian temples, shops, and living quarters. The last stop before returning to Tbilisi is Gori, Stalin’s birthplace, where you’ll visit the museum dedicated to the Soviet leader.

Day 4: Into the Caucasus – Stepantsminda and Gergeti
This day is reserved for an excursion to the foothills of the Caucasus. Heading towards Gudauri along the Georgian Military Road, you’ll stop to see the 17th-century complex of castles and churches at Anauri. The scenery grows ever more dramatic as you approach Stepantsminda. From here, hike up to Gergeti to admire the spectacular Trinity Church, perched atop a summit over 2,000 meters high at the foot of Mount Kazbegi’s glacier.
Day 5: Kakheti – Vineyards and Historic Towns
Today’s tour takes you to Kakheti, Georgia’s celebrated wine region on the eastern slopes of the Caucasus. The first stop is Tsinandali Museum, housed in the historic residence of Duke Chavchavadze—an early 19th-century winemaking pioneer. Here, you can taste remarkable Georgian wines. Continue to Gremi Complex, featuring the Church of the Archangels and a fortified palace, before heading down the Alazani Valley to Sighnaghi, a charming town known for its colorful balconies and panoramic views of the Caucasus.
Day 6: Return to Italy
