Guaranteed hand luggage on easyJet
The low-cost carrier easyJet has released a key update regarding its baggage policy—crucial information to review before booking a flight.
Starting July 2, 2013, a new benefit called “Guaranteed Hand Luggage” will be in effect for passengers.
This means all travelers are assured of bringing one piece of hand luggage into the cabin, which can be stowed in the overhead compartments or, alternatively, under the seat in front. This guarantee applies if your bag does not exceed the size limit of 50x40x20 centimeters.
If your baggage measures up to the standard 56x45x25 centimeters, it remains free to bring on board; however, if overhead bin space runs out, your trolley or bag may be placed in the hold at no extra cost.
Even today, it’s possible to arrive at your seat and find no more overhead bin space, so this update won’t dramatically change the boarding process.
However, the airline aims to simplify bringing hand luggage on board, always guaranteeing cabin space for those with bags within the 50x40x20 cm size limit.
