Established in 1998, it illustrates the phases of Ducati’s competitive motorcycling commitment from the post-World War II period to today. A brief overview of the tradition and the company’s foundation in the early 1920s is provided through the initial display of electrical, radio, photographic, and cinematographic equipment related to the early productions that made the brand famous. The heart of the exhibition consists of twenty-six motorcycles, displayed in nine “stages” along a circular “track” illuminated, with a large helmet-shaped structure at the center housing a multimedia room. Around it open six rooms equipped with engines and some mechanical components, drawings, photographic images, illustrative brochures, and historical videos showcasing the mechanical techniques and major sporting achievements that highlight the various motorcycles made over time, thus reconstructing the entire evolutionary history of the engine: from the “Cucciolo,” the first product of 1946, to the application of the Desmodromic valve system that characterizes Ducati engines, to the “Marianna,” the parallel twin-cylinder trail engine, and the bevel gear engine, the “Pantah,” as well as the latest racing motorcycles that competed in the “Superbike” category. The gift shop offers clothing items, posters, books, and Ducati merchandise.
