The Don Bosco Salesian Museum of Lombriasco houses, among other naturalistic and ethnographic collections, a herbarium collection of great value: the Gresino Herbarium, assembled between the late 19th century and early 20th century by the Salesian Don Giacomo Gresino (1859-1946).
The herbarium documents all groups of plants. The collection contains several thousand specimens in total, making it one of the most significant collections for botanical knowledge not only of the Piedmont territory but also of other places. Many samples are indeed from European and non-European origins, acquired by the herbarium thanks to material exchanges conducted by Gresino with specialists and institutions worldwide.
