The press tour “Potenza and the villages of the valleys” will kick off on Tuesday, September 29th, promoted by the APT (Territorial Promotion Agency) and organized by “FullPress Agency,” a company specializing in territorial marketing and digital tourism.

The press tour will be attended by journalists specializing in travel and food and wine from Milan e Rome who, over the course of four days, will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of Basilicata, guided by travel journalist Anna Bruno. The itinerary will weave through the heart of the city of Potenza to the history-rich towns of Brienza, Marsico Nuovo, Sasso di Castalda, Satriano di Lucania, and Savoia di Lucania.

The journey starts from the regional capital with a visit to the Adamesteanu National Archaeological Museum, the historic center, the Church of San Francesco d’Assisi, the Cathedral and the Church of San Michele Arcangelo. From Potenza, the journalists will then move to the heart of the Melandro Valley, where they will explore the Vallone del Tuorno waterfalls in the Bosco Luceto forest in Savoia di Lucania; cross the adrenaline-filled “Ponte alla Luna” in Sasso di Castalda; admire the colorful murals in Satriano di Lucania with its “rumita”; discover the evocative chapel of Santa Maria degli Angeli in Brienza, and the picturesque historic center dominated by the majestic Caracciolo Castle.

Finally, the press tour will conclude on October 2nd with a visit to the historic center and elegant historical palaces of Marsico Nuovo, the gateway to Val d’Agri.

Throughout the tour, there will be convivial moments with tastings of typical dishes from the Lucanian tradition. For the specialized press, there will also be a “taste experience” including the preparation of “cruschi” pepper strings and “homemade pasta,” following traditional Lucanian methods.

«With autumn’s colors, the charm of the “en plein air” Basilicata renews itself, as we called the post-lockdown relaunch campaign for the Lucanian tourism offer» stated APT General Director, Antonio Nicoletti. «The regional capital, with its historic and artistic heritage, surrounded by extraordinary landscapes and villages full of biodiversity, traditions, art masterpieces, as well as great food to be experienced alongside adrenaline-filled activities, is at the center of a new APT promotional initiative. The hospitality of Lucanian mountains can truly warm the hearts of travelers, creating genuine emotions» concluded Nicoletti.
