When to restart and how. These are just some of the questions that many tourism operators are asking themselves in this intermediate phase following the lockdown.

The director of the tour operator Kappa Viaggi, part of the NG Travel group, Michele Mazzini, has made a series of statements aimed at clarifying the restart a bit.

KappaViaggi is always present on the Italian market and has remained in permanent contact with all the networks it works with as well as with independent agencies through its promoters. Various webinars have been organized, both at the network level and for individual agencies, and more are planned for the future.

It is also my intention to organize live round tables at the network level to answer all the agents’ questions. As mentioned earlier, this is a difficult, uncertain period; unfortunately, none of us has a crystal ball to predict what the future holds. KappaViaggi, like the entire NG Travel group, has decided to cancel all departures up to June 26. The situation is updated every 15 days. The first possible departures are scheduled for September 1st, but if the situation improves, it will be both our duty and pleasure to reopen bookings before that date. However, as of today, there are still too many uncertainties: how and when to open the facilities, which airlines, what sanitary regulations… Additionally, the harmonization of opening European borders has not yet been finalized, so we are waiting, confident that there will be a recovery. Personally, I am thinking more of a restart at the end of autumn/beginning of winter towards medium-haul destinations. But, I repeat, no one has the gift of clairvoyance. Our products are available from September 2020 to May 2021 and you can find them on our b2b www.kappaviaggi.com” continued Mazzini.

There are also reassurances regarding the vouchers that agencies are waiting for. “NG Travel is a solid group and, moreover, in France the State has implemented various financial and fiscal aids to help the tourism industry come out of this situation as unscathed as possible.

For this reason, I would like to reassure agencies: it is true, we are late in issuing the vouchers, but our system is managed for multiple countries and we have therefore had to work on the technology to harmonize the document while at the same time making it valid according to the legislation of each individual nation in which we are present. I therefore confirm that soon the vouchers will cover the amounts paid in their entirety (excluding commission) or according to the deposits received“.

But what do KappaViaggi vouchers look like?

  1. The voucher you will receive will be valid for 18 months (and not 12) from the originally scheduled departure date;
  2. The voucher can be split and used several times;
  3. The voucher will be nominative, but in some cases can be transferred to another booking (according to the conditions applied by each airline).

I have also decided to introduce the following promotion” concluded director Mazzini “for all categories (medical staff, law enforcement, etc.) who responded during the COVID-19 emergency, a discount of €150.00 per person will be granted, which can be combined with existing offers.I am sure that together we will overcome this moment of crisis. Of course, it won’t be easy, but our sector has managed to bounce back every time we have faced difficult times. KappaViaggi is here and fully intends to continue working alongside you. Many of you made 2019 a first year full of satisfaction. Together we will grow, regrow, and make thousands of clients travel and dream.”
