Starting from September 19th, the Israeli Ministry of Tourism will resume its pilot tourism program, allowing organized tourist groups of 5-30 tourists from countries in the “green, yellow, and orange” zones to visit the country.

The program does not specify a limit on the number of foreign tourist groups allowed into Israel. To enter the country, tourists must have certification proving they received the second vaccine dose within the last six months or have received the third dose. Travelers will also need to present a negative PCR test conducted within a maximum of 72 hours before arrival and will undergo a PCR and a serological test upon arrival at Ben Gurion airport. Once the PCR and serological test results are received, tourists will be free to move within the country.

This pilot program, launched in May 2021 to provide a safe and controlled travel option, has been very successful, with over 2,000 tourists arriving in Israel, mainly from the United States and Europe, including Italy, with no cases of Covid recorded.

The hope is that individual tourists will soon be able to enter Israel as well, depending on morbidity rates that will be recorded soon in Israel and around the world.
