With the upcoming summer schedule, Delta Air Lines will be the carrier offering the highest number of flights between Rome and the United States thanks to the addition of a third weekly frequency five times a week between the capital and New York-JFK. The company’s third connection on the route will be operated starting May 26, 2023, to meet the growing demand for travel between Italy and the United States.

Next summer, Delta will also resume its popular Venice – New York flight and will continue serving two nonstop destinations from Milan (New York – JFK and Atlanta), offering a total of 82 weekly connections between Italy and the United States.

Italy is a key market for Delta, and with three flights a day between Rome and New York next summer, we will offer our customers an even wider choice of nonstop connections and connecting flights to more destinations in the United States” said Nicolas Ferri, vice president Delta for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India. “Rome is a very popular destination among American tourists, and we are happy to support incoming tourism, bringing thousands of tourists from the United States to Italy and thus boosting the local economy.”

Delta flights to Italy are part of the company’s broader transatlantic network – the largest ever – which includes about 620 weekly flights to 11 U.S. airports from 32 airports in the EMEA region. The upcoming summer will also feature the most extensive transatlantic schedule operated by the carrier from John F. Kennedy International Airport, served with 247 weekly departures from 26 airports.

The additional Delta Rome-JFK frequency will be operated with Boeing 767-300 aircraft, offering four cabin experiences: Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin. All flights from Italy are operated in partnership with Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, and the code-share partner ITA Airways.

Passengers traveling in Delta One will enjoy renewed comfort and services, including the handcrafted Someone Somewhere amenity kits, soft and comfortable bedding packaged with recycled materials, pre-departure beverage service, a three-course menu curated by renowned chefs, and delicious desserts including do-it-yourself ice cream cups. Delta One passengers also have access to the Delta Sky Club lounge at New York-JFK Airport.

The airline has also announced new features in the Delta Premium Select cabin, including a new menu, a sparkling moment with champagne, water, and snacks right after takeoff, and the Someone Somewhere amenity kit with Grown Alchemist products.

Delta is the largest airline at John F. Kennedy International Airport, with 200 daily departures. The carrier continues to invest in improving the passenger experience at the airport, and in collaboration with local authorities, is working on the next phase of redevelopment of the international Terminal 4 at JFK, which will reopen next summer as a renovated and even more modern terminal. The project includes an updated check-in hall, more gates, additional digital signage, and a brand new Delta Sky Club with Sky Deck terrace.

The third Rome-New York-JFK frequency will operate as follows:
