After an introduction to the First World War, the focus shifts to the events on the Isonzo front.
Alongside the weapons of the conflict, objects from the daily lives of the soldiers are displayed, which, together with the life-size reproduction of a trench, effectively describe the dramatic reality of the front.
The situation in Gorizia is also documented, a true “trench city”, deeply marked by bombings, but never completely abandoned by its inhabitants. The description continues with the events of 1917 – the year of the Austro-German breakthrough at Caporetto – and 1918, up to the Italo-Austrian armistice of November 3.
After the room dedicated to the history of the museum, a space is reserved for General Armando Diaz, with the display of documents, medals, and other objects.
