Il museo racconta la vicenda plurimillenaria di Ancona attraverso reperti, plastici, dipinti, stampe, riproduzioni fotografiche e documenti audiovisivi. Il percorso espositivo rilegge il passato offrendo gli strumenti di comprensione della città attuale. Una struttura in continua espansione che è anche porta d’accesso al Museo Diffuso Urbano, punto di partenza per diversi itinerari attorno ad un città che vive e si trasforma nel tempo.
The exhibition develops in four sections: from the origins to the year 1000, from 1000 to 1532, from 1532 to the end of the 17th century, from the French occupation to the unification of Italy. It is located within the suggestive environments of the ancient Hospital of San Tommaso di Canterbury and the former Fish Market.
