The museum, established in 1997 by the social services of the Municipality of Satriano di Lucania, is housed in two rooms of Palazzo Loreti, whose construction dates back to the 18th century, which also houses the municipal offices.
The first exhibition space of the small museum structure follows the model of the faithful reconstruction of a traditional peasant dwelling, which was simultaneously a kitchen, bedroom, and shelter for animals, while the second room is dedicated to the exhibition of farming work objects. The objects, donated by the elderly of the town, have all been inventoried and for each one the local name has been identified.
