Il Museo di Artigianato Locale detto anche Museo di Artigianato Rurale Collezione dei legni intagliati di Giuseppe e Giovanni Di Trani, è costituito da oltre 2000 manufatti lignei, realizzati appunto da Giuseppe Di Trani e da suo figlio Giovanni in un arco di tempo compreso tra il 1967 e il 1984 e donati nel 1991 all’Arcivescovado di Acerenza.
The works are displayed in some spaces of the Convent of St. Anthony, whose construction dates back to the second half of the 16th century. It is a collection of carved wooden objects, mainly with agricultural-pastoral references (collars for oxen, sheep and goats, stick handles, etc.) and generally domestic use (bread stamps, spoons, distaffs, shuttlecocks for looms, etc.), supplemented by ornaments of various types that feature phytomorphic, zoomorphic, ichthyomorphic, and reptilian motifs and representations of characters belonging to the community of Montescaglioso, the hometown of Giuseppe Di Trani.
