Fare trekking on Lake Iseo: an experience possible at any time of the year, recommended for everyone, as the suggested itinerary is easy, suitable for all.

The idea is to walk on the Ancient Via Valeriana, a stretch that goes from Pilzone to Pisogne, about thirty kilometers long, well marked thanks to signs: a yellow and brown “V” leads along this route, very panoramic and pleasant, especially in autumn and spring, when the colors light up the landscape.
Thanks to the project “Sebino, a rediscovered identity” a path has been developed that manages to emphasize not only the beauty of the territory but also the ancient history of these places.

The trekking itinerary on the Ancient Via Valeriana recommended can start from Pisogne, immediately encountering the church of Santa Maria della Neve defined by Vittorio Testori as “the Sistine Chapel of the poor” for the presence of Romanino’s frescoes.

Then continue towards Zone, where the Cross of Zone is located at 903 meters above sea level, the highest point reached on the route. Also to visit is the church of St. George and certainly worthy of close observation here are also the erosion pyramids, earth columns due to erosion phenomena, truly spectacular.

The next stage will be Marone, with the hermitage of San Pietro in vinculis. It will then be the turn of Sale Marasino and the parish church of St. Anthony, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Snow in the locality of Gandizzano, and the church of St. James in Maspiano.
