La exhibition gallery of the National Library of Potenza permanently displays the works of the American artist of Italian origin Albert Friscia (New York 1911 – Rome 1989), donated to the library by the artist’s wife.
On display are 96 paintings, 65 bronze and marble sculptures, and 10 kinetic works created between 1935 and 1989, which testify to the multifaceted activity of an artist constantly seeking new expressive forms, to whom significant bronze works are owed such as the door of the narthex of the Cathedral of Chicago, the monument to the “Fluidity of Communication” in the courtyard of the Ministry of Posts in Rome, the main altar in the Bernini apse of the Vatican Basilica.
