Arriving at Kiev, one can move around the city very easily both on foot and by means of public transport. Indeed, there are as many as three metro lines (a fourth is under construction and a fifth is in the design phase), trolleybuses, trams, buses, taxis, or the so-called Maršrutka, collective taxis. In summer, it is also possible to organize pleasant trips along the Dnepr river towards the Black Sea.

Known also as a green city, Kiev offers visitors two botanical gardens and numerous small and large parks. Among the main attractions is certainly Venetsianskyi (or Hidropark), a park (reachable both by metro and car) full of entertainment, beaches, rental boats, and even nightclubs. Another highly appreciated destination by tourists is Park Peremohy (Victory Park), near the Darnytsia metro station, very popular with runners, cyclists, and mothers with strollers.

The tour in Kiev cannot but start from the center mainly consisting of Independence Square and Khreschatyk Street, which attract visitors with a multitude of bars, cafés (also outdoors), shops, restaurants, and hotels. Khreschatyk Street, Kiev’s main street, is made even more pleasant by its closure to car traffic on weekends and holidays. Here there is also a large shopping center called Metro, as it is spread over several underground levels.

In the Ukrainian capital, one can also engage in many water sports, such as fishing, rowing, and ice skating during the winter season. Finally, do not forget that Kiev also offers tourists many cultural insights such as the Chernobyl Museum on Khoryv Lane, the Saint Sophia Cathedral, the Great Patriotic War Museum (to the right of the Dnepr), the Folk Architecture and Life Museum on Krasnoznamennaya Street, the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the famous Golden Gate, and much more.
Kiev hosted some matches of the 2012 European Football Championship.
