The shop was expanded and modified in 1983 and on that occasion the part of the basement where grinding work used to be carried out was also renovated: this made it possible to create a corner somewhat separate from the rest of the shop, where items made by artisans of the past and now considered “unique pieces” are also offered.
The collection was started in the 1930s by Giovanni Lorenzi, founder of the eponymous cutlery shop, with a systematic collection of razors and tools related to shaving and coming from various parts of the world. It currently consists of over three thousand seven hundred safety razors and numerous shaving-related accessories. The objects presented are elements of a historical itinerary that spans a wide period and allow one to grasp the key moments in the evolution of shaving.
In 2014 the workshop in via Montenapoleone was closed, definitively freezing the G. Lorenzi brand. Lorenzi Milano is the new brand G. Lorenzi that continues the activity in the former factory of Richard Ginori.
