Si tratta di una importante necropolis from the Roman period, identified about 200 meters outside the Porta Decumana, along the road that, passing through the Alpis Graia (Col du Petit Saint-Bernard), led to Gaul. In late antiquity, when there was a gradual transition from pagan to Christian rites; the area was used as a cemetery until the end of the first millennium and then abandoned. Recently reopened to the public, the funerary area facing the ancient Porta Decumana has been set up with panels that reproduce the image of the urban context of the Roman era.
