Il museo, adjacent to the Casina Cinese commissioned by Ferdinando di Borbone, was founded in 1909 by Giuseppe Pitrè, folklorist and scholar of customs and popular traditions, and houses numerous collections ranging from costumes to hunting tools, from nativity scenes to insignia, from sacred objects to ex-votos.
