Il Christmas Market in Rovereto will open its doors on November 27 to accompany visitors until after New Year’s, in a magical atmosphere full of Christmas spirit.
Until January 2, 2011, there will be 56 wooden huts decorated for the holidays waiting for the curious and all those who love Christmas traditions.
The colorful Christmas Market of Rovereto will be open every day (except December 25) from 10 am to 7 pm, with extended hours until 8 pm every Friday and Saturday. The huts will be located between Corso Rosmini, Piazza Erbe, Piazza S. Marco, Piazza Malfatti, Piazza Loreto, and Via Garibaldi, in a succession of typical sweets, delicious dishes, local crafts, and many useful ideas for Christmas gifts.
This year, for the Natale dei Popoli event, the Rovereto Christmas Market will host stands from Salento, mixing North Italy and Central Europe traditions with those of Southern Italy.
Far from thinking that the Christmas Market of Rovereto is just a mere village made for product display, on the contrary, many related events will enliven the entire town and the areas affected by Christmas excitement until January 2. For example, on Saturday, December 4, the inauguration ceremony and lighting of the Great Christmas Tree in Piazza Rosmini will take place. Furthermore, every weekend the entire Rovereto Christmas Market will be filled with enchanted melodies and traditional Christmas presents from both Trentino and around the world.
A “welcoming” market, therefore, also from a sound perspective; a market that pampers visitors by transporting them into an enchanted space-time dimension.
Of course, at the Rovereto Christmas Market, children are also well thought of, with magical spaces arranged just for them: for example, in Piazza Erbe, there will be the House of Stories with its enchanted garden and the Children’s Market. It won’t be surprising if, suddenly, Santa Claus appears with his elves, busy greeting everyone and handing out candies among the market huts, to the rhythm of the music from his Santa Claus Band.
Fun is guaranteed also on the ice rink in Piazza Malfatti: you can stretch your legs while skating on the ice, surrounded by the smells of the Flavors Market arranged around the rink: after so much energy spent on skates, it’s right to refuel with good typical products from Trentino, maybe with a fragrant strudel, while adults warm up with some mulled wine.
At the Rovereto Christmas Market, New Year’s Eve will also be celebrated with emphasis and joy, thanks to three events already scheduled: the New Year’s Eve on Ice, the Children’s New Year’s Eve, and the Market’s New Year’s Eve.
From 10 pm on December 31, people will wait for midnight together, to the sound of good music and with the help of a wonderful ice show. The little ones, instead, will welcome the new year on January 1 at 3 pm in Piazza Erba: for the Children’s New Year’s Eve, thousands of balloons will be released to fly into the sky!
Finally, at 5 pm on the same day, the Market in Piazza Rosmini will be animated by music and good luck toasts with great Trentino sparkling wine.
Great magic and many events, then, in the Christmas Market of Rovereto, an enchanted place bringing joy, carefreeness, and companionship, in the delightful Trentino.
