Il museo civico – diocesano di Città della Pieve is housed in the former church of Santa Maria dei Servi, built in the second half of the 13th century and renovated in Baroque style between the 17th and 18th centuries. The building preserves the fragmentary Deposition from the Cross created by Pietro Vannucci called Perugino in 1517 and paintings from the 16th and 18th centuries that adorn the Baroque altars of the side chapels. In an underlying room, with Gothic cross vaulting, there are canvases of ecclesiastical property documenting painting in Città della Pieve between the 16th and 17th centuries. The museum is part of a museum circuit that unfolds along a city route including the oratory of Santa Maria dei Bianchi, Palazzo della Corgna, the Civic Diocesan Museum of Santa Maria dei Servi, the cathedral, the church of San Pietro, and the oratory of San Bartolomeo.
