Slovakia (Slovàcchia or Slovacchìa), officially the Slovak Republic, is a landlocked country. It has a population of over 5 million and an area of around 49,000 square kilometers. The largest city and capital is Bratislava, while the second biggest city is Košice.
Slovakia borders the Czech Republic to the northwest, Poland to the north, Ukraine to the east, Hungary to the south, and Austria to the southwest.
