Built in 1905 by Mayor Bonanno who named it, Villa Bonanno is a magnificent public garden always open, located in Piazza della Vittoria, behind the Palazzo dei Normanni.

In the garden – planted with palm trees – statues and busts of illustrious Palermitan figures are visible. Also within the garden, remains of Roman patrician houses with mosaics have been found: notable are the mosaics of the seasons and of Orpheus, now preserved at the National Archaeological Museum.

Adjacent to the villa is the fountain with the monument to Philip V, a 19th-century work by Nunzio Morello. It seems the fountain was designed in 1661 by Carlo d’Aprile, with the participation of the Serpotta family.
