Located in the ancient 14th-century convent of the Carmelite Fathers, restored and adapted several times between the 16th and 17th centuries, the Museum illustrates the history of figurative arts in the Trapani area through painting, sculpture, coral works, majolica, gold and silver, and nativity scene sculptures. The Museum’s initial core stems from the private collection of Count Agostino Pepoli, promoter of the institution in the early 1900s. To this were added antiquarian collections from suppressed religious orders as well as donations and deposits.
