Planning can be a lot of fun, but for places as large and varied as New York, it can become stressful. It was also a challenge to decide among the countless museum attractions in the city, but we managed to narrow it down to three.
The Best Museums in New York for Families
1. The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Many people don’t see it as a place kids will enjoy, but it has fantastic artworks such as those on the Greek and Roman Empire, Egyptian art, and the Knights’ Room. Kids will spend some time admiring these works of art and imagining complete adventures in the middle of these amazing pieces.

2. American Museum of Natural History
The American Museum of Natural History is one of the most famous and comprehensive museums of its kind. Here you can find almost everything you might want to know about natural history. The exhibits are extremely well made and varied. It guarantees sunny hours for the whole family. Don’t forget to ask about the temporary exhibitions; they are always fantastic.

3. Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum
This is a really amazing museum located on the USS Intrepid, dedicated to honoring all the people who serve in the military. Visiting this place can be a true adventure: you’re allowed to board the planes, enter a flight simulator, and see all kinds of aircraft and weapons that were once used, all aboard one of the most successful ships in United States history.

These are just my top 3 recommendations. The metropolis is filled with many different museums, so start checking out our New York guide; we’re sure there’s something for you too.
