- Bronx Equestrian Center at Pelham Bay Park: offers horseback rides and excursions through woods and marshes, from 9 AM at sunset, no reservation needed. For lessons, an appointment is required. The official website is bronxequestriancenter.com.
- Jamaica Bay Riding Academy, at Gateway National Wildlife Preserve in Brooklyn: here you can enjoy rides on the beach and in the woods, either privately or in groups. Minimum age allowed: 16 years. For younger children, ponies are available. The reference site is horsebackride.com.
