The Three Lochs Way trail stretches for 55 km (the distance increases if you consider the short detours and side hikes available along the route).

Recognized among Scotland’s Great Trails, this journey is divided into four daily stages. It starts in Balloch, at the foot of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, and ends in Inveruglas on the opposite shore of Loch Lomond.

The Three Lochs Way gets its name from the three beautiful lakes it passes: Loch Lomond, Gare Loch, and Loch Long. The walk begins with gentle landscapes and gradually reveals dramatic mountains and sparkling Scottish lochs.

Along the way, you can admire Hill House, the national architectural masterpiece by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, designed for publisher Walter Blackie between 1902 and 1904; panoramic viewpoints over Loch Lomond; the Delightful Glen Loin Woodlands, a geosite home to many red squirrels; and, finally, the impressive Sloy hydroelectric installations dating back to the post-World War II era.

This atmospheric route offers a close connection with the communities of Scotland’s first National Park.
