Il Three Lochs Way walking route is 55 km long (the km increase if you count the various short excursions that can be made along the trail).
Included in the great national trails of Scotland, the route is divided into four daily stages and starts from Balloch, at the foot of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, and ends at Inveruglas, on the other shore of Loch Lomond.
The Three Lochs Way is so named because along the route you encounter three lakes: Loch Lomond, Gare Loch, and Loch Long. A journey that begins with a gentle and enchanting landscape but gradually gives way to panoramic mountains and the sparkling lakes of the Scottish territory.
Along the journey, you can admire the national architectural marvel of Charles Rennie Macintosh, the “Hill House,” a house designed and built for the publisher Walter Blackie between 1902 and 1904; the breathtaking view of Loch Lomond; the Delightfull Glen Loin Woodlands, a geosite home to many red squirrels; and finally, the imposing Sloy hydroelectric installations dating back to the end of World War II.
A suggestive path that will bring you into contact with the different communities of Scotland’s first National Park.

Points of interest:

- Gare Loch: it is the smallest of the three lakes along the route with “only” 10 km length and an average width of 1.5 km.
