It is organized according to an exhibition system that uses archival documents, photographs, posters, films, testimonies, and multimedia products useful collectively to retrace local history from the antifascist activity before the Resistance, to the Bolognese Resistance during the war, to its role in the Postwar period.

Within the itinerary, two multimedia applications are included, dedicated respectively to the Partisans’ Ossuary in the Certosa of Bologna and the Partisans’ Shrine in Piazza Nettuno. Through photos, documentary material, even in original form, and vintage footage, the room dedicated to antifascism before the Resistance revisits the themes of opposition to fascism in Italy, repression, and the participation of Italian antifascists in the Spanish Civil War.

The section titled ‘The War in Motion’ reviews the protagonists, places, and phases of the resistance experience in the Bologna area, offering photos, articles from the official and underground press, but also multimedia tools such as a selection of interviews with protagonists of the Bolognese Resistance and the possibility to navigate in the virtual model of the Monument-Ossuary dedicated to the partisans at the Certosa of Bologna and in the Shrine of Piazza Nettuno.

In the section developing the content regarding ‘The War Endured and the Resistance in Bologna’, it analyzes life in the city during the twenty months from September 8, 1943, to Liberation: this painful historical moment is illustrated by photos, posters, leaflets, newspaper articles, multimedia materials. The life of an idea and the construction of memory are finally entrusted to the section dedicated to ‘After the Resistance’. The Video/camera is, lastly, a multimedia suggestion workshop evoking the living conditions of autumn 1944 in Bologna.
