The exhibition path of the National Museum of Medieval and Modern Art of Basilicata, located on the first floor of the Palace, is divided into three sections: Sacred Art, Collecting and Contemporary Art.
Sacred Art
The Sacred Art section consists of a collection of works, paintings on canvas, panel paintings, sculptures, wooden and stone artifacts, originating from the churches of the regional territory that have lost their original location or that, taken for restoration work, are temporarily exhibited to document the protection, safeguarding and enhancement activity carried out by the Superintendence for Historical, Artistic and Ethno-anthropological Heritage in the territory and to tell the history and figurative art of Basilicata.
Collecting
The Collecting section displays a selection of paintings from the Camillo d’Errico collection of Palazzo San Gervasio, an important example of 19th-century private collecting in Basilicata that includes over three hundred canvases of the Neapolitan school from the 17th and 18th centuries, including masterpieces by outstanding artists in the figurative culture panorama of those centuries.

Contemporary Art
The Contemporary Art section features works by Carlo Levi (Turin 1902 – Rome 1975), a prominent figure of Italian culture in the twentieth century, including the large canvas ‘Lucania ’61’ painted for the exhibition ‘Italy 1961’, organized in Turin to celebrate the Centenary of the Unification of Italy, and a selection of the one hundred and fifty works by the painter from Matera Luigi Guerricchio (Matera 1936-1996).
The National Museum of Medieval and Modern Art of Basilicata has adopted the Service Quality Charter.
