The museum is located in the premises of the Archconfraternity, adjacent to the modern church of Saints George and Catherine, built after the war on the slopes of Monte Urpinu.
The main theme is represented by materials and furnishings from the homonymous church on Via Manno, in the historic center of the city, destroyed under Allied bombings on May 13, 1943.
The museum exhibits paintings, statues, silverware, and vestments from the liturgical furnishings of the old church, as well as documents from the Archive of the Archconfraternity.
The exhibition is arranged in several rooms between the ground floor and the first floor, without following a precise chronological or stylistic order.
Paintings are present, among which stands out “Christ and Mary Offer the Rosary to Dominican Saints,” from 1620-30. Numerous are the pieces of sacred silverware.
The textile section is very rich and refined, dating from the seventeenth century to the first half of the twentieth century.
On the upper floor, texts, acts, and archival documents of the society are preserved, from the late sixteenth century (the papal bull erecting the society as an archconfraternity dates back to 1591) to today.
