The specialized Museum, unique of its kind in all of central-southern Italy, is arranged in a system of interconnected indoor and outdoor spaces.

Currently, the Museum has incorporated the “culture-nature path center” located at via Africa Orientale, 50, thus presenting itself as a meeting place between scientific, historical, and tourist culture.

The museum route, covering a distance of about 10 to 20 km, includes an exhibition of approximately 1000 industrial archaeology artifacts, such as tools for harvesting and processing salt, meteorological and electrical instruments, densimeters, etc., continuing on to the saltworks and the wetland area.
