Since September 2011, the Mansio Sebatum Archaeological Museum has been open to the public. It is the first museum in South Tyrol dedicated exclusively to the Iron Age and Roman era in the region. The museum is spread over four floors and tells the fascinating story of the Sebatum settlement, as San Lorenzo di Sebato was called at the time. An impressive number of finds in San Lorenzo and its surroundings, as well as research results on the Iron Age and the history of the Roman Empire in our territory, offer a vivid picture of daily life at this important Roman road station. In setting up the museum, great attention has been paid to educational aspects, the possibility of comparing past and present, and playful, interactive learning. It is indeed our intention to ensure that visiting this museum is an adventure, especially for children and young people.
