Inside the small building corresponding to the structure that in 1455 represented the center of the Jewish community of Ferrara, there are three synagogues: the German, the Fano, still in use, and the Italian. The current complex includes some exhibition spaces where multiple aspects of Jewish life and culture are documented: birth, circumcision, redemption of the firstborn, entry into adulthood, marriage, death, as well as various moments of religious and community worship, such as prayer, festivals, and rites connected to the historical events of Judaism. In 1999, a small section devoted to the history of the Jewish community of Ferrara was established. The exhibition path includes a visit to the synagogues and ends in the Italian Synagogue, used for community and cultural events, and in a room where a video on “Jewish Ferrara” is screened.
