Inside the small building corresponding to the structure that in 1455 represented the center of the Ferrara Jewish community, it is divided into three synagogues, the German, Fanese, still in operation, and Italian Scoles. The current complex includes some exhibition spaces within which multiple aspects of Jewish life and culture are documented: birth, circumcision, redemption of the firstborn, entry into adulthood, marriage, death, as well as the various moments of religious and community worship, such as prayer, holidays, and rites connected to the historical events of Judaism. In 1999 a small section was set up dedicated to the history of the Ferrara Jewish community. The exhibition route includes a visit to the synagogues and ends in the Italian Scola, used for community and cultural events, and in a room where a video on “Jewish Ferrara” is projected.
