The museum is located in the 14th-century tower that some local historians identify as the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, whose family is said to have originated from the hamlet of Pradello. In the building, which has been lowered several times for stability reasons and restored by the last owner, a man from Piacenza who was previously the director of the Waldorf Astoria in New York, some panels are displayed that trace the history of that family and their connections to these lands.
