Christmas Markets of Dresden
The Striezelmarkt, that is the name of the market held in this city, is undoubtedly noteworthy, not least because it is the oldest Christmas market in Germany.
It was actually founded as far back as 1474 and today retains all its magic, seasoned with local tradition.
The Dresden Christmas market will open next November 27, 2013 and can be visited until December 24, Christmas Eve.
The stalls will be open every day following these hours:
from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., except on November 27 (4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.), December 13 (10:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.) and December 24 (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.).

Many events will enliven the entire city and in particular those who visit Dresden during the Immaculate Conception period can take part in a celebration scheduled for next December 7, entirely dedicated to Stollen, Dresden’s traditional Christmas cake.
Dresden is a city absolutely worth visiting beyond the markets that enliven it during the Christmas period. To learn what to see and do in Dresden, we have created a guide to the German city’s top points of interest.
